History of Lucerne Valley Car Shows

Hello! My name is Jeanmarie Taylor and I have always loved cars , car shows, and can appreciate all that goes into restoring and maintaining a classic car. Being the daughter of a mechanic I  think I was born with oil in my veins and I fell in love and married my husband because he had an awesome 1973 Mach I Mustang. (And he was cute too!)

Three and a half years ago I decided to do a car show as a fund raiser for a friend who was running for Honorary Mayor of Lucerne Valley and the local chamber of commerce. I quickly realized early in the planning stage that going to car shows as a spectator was dramatically different then producing a car show.

The organization, dedication, and hard work that goes into having a good show is amazing, but well worth every minute of the time spent. And it's not something you can do alone. Thanks to my family and friends giving me support and a helping hand I can do what I love, and help my community at the same time! This will be my seventh charity car show and I am  already planning Candy Cane Classic IV Car and Bike Show on November 13, 2010!

I have been blessed with the opportunity to meet interesting people at these events.  I have met people from all walks of life, some real characters, some sweethearts, and have made some great friends as well.

I'd like to thank my friends and family for their help:

My husband Robert Walter, thanks for toting around and storing all my show stuff , not complaining about having your supper late once in awhile, donating money and supplies for the shows and for giving me the time to do what I need to do to produce these events. I love you babe! (www.taylorpumpco.com)

My son Robert Lee for staying up till 1am making signs, then for getting up at 5 am to put the signs up, for picking up golf carts and barricades, for being the parking attendant, my assistant, and so much more. Your my right hand man at these events and I couldn't do it without you son.  (www.taylorpumpco.com)

Thanks to my 10 year old grandson Robert Zachary, for helping me out around the house, for giving me a smile and a hug when I'm tired and need it, and for digging the car shows as much as I do. Thanks Little Man!

Jean Fuqua, my good friend and partner in crime, for running for Honorary Mayor in 2007, so I had a reason to start doing charity car shows. (Yep, she won and has been "THE BEST" Honorary Mayor Lucerne Valley has ever seen.)

For your friendship and support ,and for bringing your "one of a kind"  car twice to Lucerne Valley , I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thanks for all the t shirts, baseball tickets, and other great items you've donated for our local charities , and being a judge as well. (www/dnrrecords.com)
